Toronto - Then and Now: Bay and Richmond 1945
This photograph was taken in downtown Toronto on VE Day in 1945. Our videographer found the Sterling Building which served as a backdrop for these revellers as they passed through the intersection of Bay and Richmond.
Toronto - Then and Now: Spadina Crescent 1899
Looking northwest towards Spadina Crescent (from College and Spadina), our videographer found the right spot but did not see a massive cast-iron horse trough and fountain. Today, 1 Spadina Crescent is undergoing a major renovation as it becomes the new home of the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design of the University of Toronto.
Toronto - Then and Now: Dundas and Roncesvalles 1912
Our videographer faced southeast at the intersection of Dundas and Roncesvalles and found that things look remarkably similar after 100 years. The original photograph was taken in 1912 and the Merchants Bank Building is today a Starbucks.
